ABB is pleased to announce that the company’s ACH550 line of drives and bypasses for HVAC has been added to the Facilities Development Division (FDD) List of Equipment/Components with OSHPD Special Seismic Certification Pre-Approval (OSP).

The FDD list is administered by the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). An OSP pre-approval allows owners, engineers, and contractors of healthcare facilities in California to specify, purchase, and install ABB ACH550 drives and bypasses, in compliance with the seismic requirements of the California Building Code (CBC) -- and to be accepted by OSHPD during its statutory design review and inspection of construction projects.

ABB, Inc. is the first and only manufacturer to have variable frequency drives (VFD) on this list. This approval provides healthcare facility owners with the peace of mind that their VFD equipment will not delay the approval and opening of their facility.
