During AMCAs
Midyear Meeting, which took place recently in Chicado (USA), Barbara Morrison,
Executive Director, stated: The growth of the association, its programs,
and the recognition of them in the global community is an indicator of future
success for AMCA International.
AMCA
International, backed by almost 80 years of standards development, is the
world's leading authority in the development of the science and art of
engineering as relates to air movement and air control devices. Recently,
it has approved the May 2007 revisions for the Certified Ratings Program:
Product Rating Manual for Air Control Devices, which aims at prescribing proper
presentation of data and other required technical procedures; Product Rating
Manual for Fan Sound Performance, which will allow manufacturers to rate their
fan with greater accuracy. Furthermore, AMCA has announced that Standard 320 (Laboratory
Methods of Sound Testing of Fans), which establishes a method of determining
the octave band sound power levels of a fan, was approved by the membership of
the Air Movement and Control Association International Inc.
Also, it has released a Quarterly Forecast Newsletter
for the second quarter of 2007 written by consulting economist, Hans Zigmund,
who stated that the air movement and control industrys principal economic
indicators continue to provide mixed results, contributing towards a continued
feeling of uncertainty about the economys performance in the medium term. While
higher input costs and strong performance in non-residential construction may
have caused some gains in excess of forecast results, the magnitude of the
gains, especially in sectors experiencing large gains, should be greeted with
caution.
