SWEP’s new factory in Suzhou, China, was officially opened on 12 April with an exciting and colorful ceremony. The opening followed several months of intense activity involving site adaptations, the installation of SWEP’s state-of-the-art plant and training for the enthusiastic new workforce.

“We moved into our new factory here in Suzhou, equipped it and achieved important international quality certifications, all in just a few months. This is an outstanding example of what China and Europe can achieve together,” says Håkan Nilsson, SWEP’s Vice President Operations. SWEP was welcomed to Suzhou by Ms. Sun Yanyan, Vice Chairman of Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee, who assured the company of her government’s continuing support for SWEP in China. The opening of the new factory is only the beginning of substantial expansion for SWEP in China, reveals the company’s press release. “We are investing in even more production capacity to help us satisfy the demanding market here in China. More equipment for pressing, brazing and testing will be arriving over the next few months, for example,” says Håkan Nilsson.
