Siemens Energy,
the worlds leading supplier of products, services and solutions for the
generation, transmission and distribution of power, has secured an order from
the Dutch utility Enecogen for a combined cycle power plant valued at around
700 million. The power plant, which will have a capacity of approximately 870
megawatts, is scheduled to go on line in late 2011. By virtue of its low
emissions and high operating efficiency it will be one of Europes
most efficient fossil-fuelled power plants, according to the companys press
release.
In addition to the main
components gas turbine, steam turbine and generator Siemens will also
supply the entire electrical and I&C systems and hand over the power plant
as a turnkey installation. I am very happy that Enecogens specific
requirements fit perfectly with our reliable, sound and environmentally
friendly power plant concept, said Michael Suess, CEO of the Fossil Power
Generation Division of Siemens Energy.
