SMACNA and ICC agree to market new products and support standards development |

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors
National Association (SMACNA) and the
International Code Council (ICC), both
representing thousands of members involved in the specialty construction
industry, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreeing to
jointly promote their mutual interests, including marketing new products and
services, supporting cooperative standards and codes development, and sharing
each organizations products and services with each others members to benefit
the air conditioning industry, including heating and air conditioning,
ventilation or sheet metal.
SMACNA and ICC agreed to identify areas of mutual
interest and work cooperatively to leverage impact, increase reach, maximize
the efficient use of each organizations resources and to jointly assist in
legislative efforts to provide positive results for respective memberships.
In addition, both
organizations agreed to cross-market each others products and services related
to heating and air conditioning, ventilation, and to promote the advancement of
the science and technology of heating and air conditioning ventilation by
supporting each organizations respective research and technology programs,
among others.
