SPX Corporation, the premier manufacturer and supplier of ultraviolet dyes and inspection lamps to the automotive, HVAC/R and industrial markets, recently announced that its thermal equipment and services segment will provide electrostatic precipitators and air preheaters for a new coal-fired power plant in Maasvlakte, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to reduce dust emissions and enhance thermal efficiency of plant’s boiler.

“SPX’s highly efficient, Balcke-Durr-branded electrostatic precipitators are designed to remove fine particulate matter such as dust and smoke from the Maasvlakte plant’s air stream, while our Balcke-Durr-branded air preheaters serve to reduce the useful heat lost in the flue gas and thus increase the thermal efficiency of the plant’s boiler,” said Drew Ladau, SPX segment president.
