Phil Wilkinson and Neil CoxThe Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) has announced two key changes to its management structure.

Phil Wilkinson has been appointed to the role of chief executive officer. He is responsible for AIRAH’s overall management, financial performance and implementation of strategic plans, reporting to the board. Also, Neil Cox has been named to the role of AIRAH’s chief operating officer, taking on the Institute’s day-to-day management and operations.

AIRAH president Sean Treweek, M.AIRAH, says Wilkinson and Cox are the right people to drive forward the Institute, this year celebrating its 90th anniversary. “Both Phil and Neil have been instrumental in turning around the effects towards AIRAH of the economic downturn and positioning the Institute for the next phase,” Treweek says.

Both appointments are internal. Wilkinson, a mechanical engineer by training, has been with the organisation for seven years. Before the appointment he served in a role that saw him overseeing business development and engineering issues.

An AIRAH staff member for five years, Cox was the Institute’s communications manager. Both he and Wilkinson have been part the management team overseeing the organisation during the past year.
