Vaillant works with Sustainable Architecture PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 29 June 2010

VaillantDemonstrating once again its concern with the environment and its condition of manufacturer of sustainable products, Vaillant sponsors the international exhibition "Towards other architectures. 24 sustainable projects", in which are presented models and audiovisual media projects from Emilio Ambasz, Mario Cucinella, Norman Foster, Jonathan Hines, Rafael de la Hoz, David Kirkland, Antonio Lamela, Enrique León, Iñigo Ortiz, Richard Rogers, Jacob van Rijs (MVRDV) Ken Yeang and Luis Garrido.

Luis Garrido is also the show commissary and Vaillant had worked with him by providing sustainable products such as a geothermal heat pump and two solar panels on the Green Box project, the "future sustainable garden-house", whose model is included in this exhibition and received thousands of visitors in the last Construmat Hall. Germain Almendariz, head of the New Building of Vaillant, regular contact between the brand and the Valencian architect and an expert in his work, affirms that for Garrido sustainable architecture is that by which resources and materials are optimized, energy consumption, waste, emissions, maintenance costs of buildings are diminished and, similarly, promotes renewable energy and increases the quality of life. For Garrido - continues Vaillant responsible - sustainable architecture implies a commitment to social stability and human development.

The exhibition, that can be visited at the Fundación Canal (Matthew Inurria, 2. Madrid), offers a detailed analysis of twenty-four architectural projects, two for each of the twelve participants studios, and explains in an informative way, through models and audiovisual supports, what is sustainable architecture, to which problems provides a solution and how it can meet the needs of its occupants, at any time and place, without thereby endangering the welfare and development of future generations.
