Daikin offers enlarged chiller product portfolio for 2007 |

Daikin Europe N.V. is offering the market a significantly enlarged portfolio of air cooled and water cooled screw chillers for comfort cooling, industrial and process applications, reveals the company's press release.
All portfolio additions provide excellent application cover with increased flexibility, high energy efficiency and operating sound levels afforded by high specification units with Class A Eurovent energy efficiency ratings plus Extra Low Noise models that meet the most stringent noise abatement regulations. Daikin Europes territories in the Middle East and Africa can also now be offered High Ambient air cooled solutions along with alternatives for price conscious markets and low budget applications.
R-134a air cooled chillers in Standard Efficiency, High Efficiency, Extra Low Noise and High Ambient models with 2, 3 or 4 refrigeration circuits, have capacities from 184 to 1920kW. All units are equipped with single screw compressors with stepless capacity control from 100% to 6.25% (4 compressors), 100% to 8.3 % (3 compressors) and 12.5% (2 compressors). Reduced Noise and Low Noise options are available on all models and can make a significant impact on operating sound levels. High Ambient units with larger diameter fans and more powerful motors are able to operate in temperatures up to 480C. Air cooled R-407C chillers in Standard Efficiency and High Efficiency models have capacities between 854 and 1729kW and offer higher outputs via smaller and fewer compressors as a result of the lower volumetric capacity of the refrigerant.
Water cooled R-134a Standard and High Efficiency chillers come in capacities from 165 to 1893kW and are equipped with 1, 2, 3 or and 4 refrigeration circuits and single screw compressors with similar stepless capacity control capabilities to those of air cooled units. Water cooled flooded models are available for projects in which payback and efficiency are important criteria, such as telecommunications and IT exchange centres, large hotels, corporate HQs, leisure centres and 24 hour process applications. These units achieve EERs of 5.83 in cooling but part load EER increases to 7.4 due to the use of over size condenser and evaporator during part load operation. |
