In the interest of sustainable development in refrigeration, eurammon, the European initiative for natural refrigerants, has joined forces with the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA).
According to eurammon's press release, the aim of the reciprocal membership is to champion environmentally friendly solutions in refrigeration at the European Union level, and strengthen the position of natural refrigerants. In addition ECSLA members will be provided with information about the possibilities of using natural refrigerants in cold storage and logistics. Both organisations will seek out political decision makers, support each other at expert hearings hosted by EU bodies, and promote the interdisciplinary dissemination of expert knowledge.
"The environmental report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) made it very clear: global climate change is on its way. Its repercussions can only be mitigated if the emission of greenhouse gases is reduced sharply," says Monika Witt, Chairwoman of eurammon, the European initiative for natural refrigerants. "For applications in refrigeration, this means concentrating on natural refrigerants such as ammonia, carbon dioxide or hydrocarbons, which are climate neutral. With the help of the Brussels-based ECSLA lobby, we can better approach the Members of Parliament with these issues and actively influence the decisions made by the EU." |
