ammoniaThe Organising Committe of the IIR Conference "Ammonia Refrigeration Technology - for Today and Tomorrow", which will take place in Ohrid, Macedonia, from the 19th to the 21st of April, announced recently the conference's preliminary program.
"Ammonia is a natural refrigerant, win-win-win solution: climate friendly-ozone friendly-the most efficient. Well known keynote speakers, authors of interesting papers and presence of many companies are great opportunity to get a new knowledge and to exchange experiences between industry, equipment designers, manufacturers, researchers and academics. Events such as workshops, panel discussion and initiative to establish a Natural Refrigerants Fund will be organized", says Risto Ciconkov, President of the Organising Committe.
On the first day, there will be lectures on the following subjects: "Aspects involved in the replacement of refrigerants by low GWP gases" by Lambert Kuijpers, Technical University of Eindhoven (Netherlands); "Ammonia water solution as secondary refrigerant – advantages and constraints" by Valérie Gibert, Axima Refrigeration (France); among others.
On the second day, Björn Palm, from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), will talk about "Ammonia in small capacity heat pump and refrigeration systems" and on the last day, Brian Marriott, from York America - JCI (USA), will give a workshop on "Designing for operation of ammonia systems".
