New Sabroe products were presented on the Johnson Controls stand at the last edition of IKK exhibition in Nuremberg, reveals the company in a press release. A completely new Sabroe product - the SABCube variable-speed screw compressor - is based on a concept never seen before. A well-proven technology applied in a highly innovative way delivers exceptional operating efficiency. The variable speed drive technology has been optimised and combined with both a specially designed hybrid permanent magnet motor and a screw compressor with fewer moving parts and greater efficiency than the compressor it replaces.
The SABCube also features an innovative oil management system. These technologies are all fully integrated into one compact unit monitored by a Unisab control system. The SABCube compressor package reduces energy costs by as much as 30%. It is specially designed to automatically operate at the maximum efficiency available for any required output. The service costs have been reduced due to a design with less moving parts and a detailed preventative maintenance schedule. The SABCube is also extremely compact and quiet compared with conventional fixed-speed compressors.
The very successful range of Sabroe ChillPACs with reciprocating compressors has now been supplemented by a ChillPAC series based on Sabroe screw compressors. The combination of the new variable-speed screw compressor, SABCube, and the ChillPAC provides the customer with a number of benefits. 50% less footprint, 35% lower unit, 15% lower weight, and maybe best of all – a 60% smaller ammonia charge and a reduced noise level. Using the SABCube screw compressor with VSD also provides the chiller with an optimised COP and capacity/line power ratio and outstanding part load efficiency.
Sabroe introduces a new versatile compressor controller to follow the well-known Unisab II controller that has served the refrigeration market with great success for more than a decade. The new Unisab III controller, which is actually the fifth generation of Sabroe controllers, has been updated with a graphics display, and great focus was put on easy access. The controller will suit both reciprocating as well as screw compressor applications. |
