Due to the high level of
participation and its success in previous years, the Association of European Refrigeration Component Manufacturers (ASERCOM) is proud to announce once
again the sponsorship of the 2008 ASERCOM Energy Efficiency Award, which
will be presented in October 2008.
The association would like
to recognize an outstanding innovative concept to improve energy efficiency. Energy consumption over the lifetime of
refrigeration and air conditioning systems has a greater contribution to
greenhouse gases than HFC refrigerant direct emissions. In Europe, for example, such systems account for approximately
14% of the overall power consumption. Hence, efficiency improvement is our industrys
primary responsibility in the reduction of emissions.
The 10.000 euro award is granted for the most innovative energy saving
concept or system in refrigeration/air conditioning, including heat pumps, that
will be published in international refrigeration/air conditioning trade
magazines immediately after announcement. An international panel of technical
experts will evaluate the applications, which can be made by enterprises
throughout Europe that are active in the refrigeration/air conditioning/heat
pump industry, research institutes, universities, and independent inventors
based in Europe. According to the associations press release, applications
must be presented until June 30, 2008, and offer a new concept which is
technically feasible and economically viable. |
