Berner Energy Recovery Inc. (BERI),
a seven-year-old manufacturer of energy recovery solution equipment for
commercial and industrial building HVAC specification engineers, has introduced
a water source condenser/heat pump (WSHP) option as part of its line of
100-percent outside air TRICOIL and desiccant energy recovery ventilation
systems primarily used in for schools, universities, office buildings,
hospitals, hotels and other commercial facilities utilizing geothermal HVAC
technology.
Combining BERIs TRICOIL
recuperative loop process with the simplicity and efficiency of WSHP technology
offers one of the most energy-efficient designs for any dehumidifying outside
air system (DOAS). TRICOIL technology reduces outside air tonnage requirements
to about 33-percent of conventional systems, which is similar to that of a
re-circulated air system. The BERI line offers mechanical engineers and
designers customized energy recovery equipment at non-custom pricing with
options such as an enthalpy wheel, cooling/heating coils, filters,
louvers/dampers, variable frequency drives, modular design and now the WSHP.
Like all
other modules, the WSHP is factory piped, charged, and packaged as one turnkey
unit with single source responsibility. According
to the companys press release, other features of BERI energy recovery
equipment include sizes range from 1,500 to 22,000-cfm or in larger custom
sizes up to 45,000-cfm; applicable for new construction as well as retrofits; smallest
and lightest footprint in the industry; lower tonnages result in reduced
horsepower, electrical amp draws, and sound levels; monitoring / Controlling is
compatible with most building automation system protocols or possible as a
stand alone system; modularization allows for access through standard doorways. |
