CERTITA,
an
association for the certification of heating, cooling, air conditioning and air
treatment industrial and home equipment, was set up by 3 major French players
of the HVACR engineering trade: LNE (National Laboratory
of Metrology and Testing), ATITA (Technical
Association of Thermic and Air Handling Industries) and CETIAT (Technical Center of Air
Handling and Thermic Industries).

HVACR engineering equipment and systems in the building industry are
subject to major development. In almost every part of Europe the focus on
environmental and energy-related issues and in particular the reduction of
green house gas has resulted in an evolution of thermic regulations for
buildings, tax incentives for promoting and developing renewable energy
solutions and a stronger involvement of the end user. In this context, the
certification of products, systems and services is an even stronger requirement
for providing accurate and reliable data to update regulations and their
calculation tools, designing facilities, giving clients and public authorities
options as regards their incentive policies, highlighting competitive solutions,
and meeting consumers expectations relating to thermal comfort and energy
consumption.
According to the organizations press release, this ambition is based on
a strong technical partnership in the context of an association open to all
technical players, and aims at a European positioning. It is a pool of
recognised competences in certification management, company auditing, and
equipment and system testing, and brings together HVACR professionals
(builders, design offices distributors, installers).
