The World Food
Logistics Organization (WFLO) is pleased to
announce 78 graduates of the WFLO Institute, an in-depth training program for
employees of public refrigerated warehouses (PRWs).
The Institute,
founded in 1965, has grown into a four-day program offering more than 40
classes taught by leading experts in the PRW industry. During the last 43
years, the Institute has trained more than 3,500 cold storage professionals. According
to the organizations press release, students attend the program for three
years, choosing courses from among seven tracks, including Facilities
Management, Finance and Productivity, Food Science/Food Safety, Human
Resources, Logistics Management, Risk Management, and Warehouse Technology.

The Institute has become a unique educational
experience, explains WFLO Chairman Bruce Jayne of Halls Warehouse Corporation
in South Plainfield, New Jersey, USA. Not only do students learn from some of
the leading industry experts, they also develop bonds and friendships with
their fellow students that will last their entire careers. Many companies,
including mine, send several employees to the Institute each year, and I can
attest that the knowledge they bring back makes our company better. The
Institute has been held at the University of Oklahoma for the past 40 years.
This years Institute, held February 9-13, 2008, marked the last time the
Institute will be hosted at this distinguished site. The location of the 2009
Institute is still to be determined.
