In response to requests from
North American ventilation manufacturers seeking training for contractors who
install their equipment, the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Institute of Canada (HRAI) SkillTech Academy
will offer its two-day Residential Mechanical Ventilation Installation Course
in a number of new locations within the United States this spring.
Upcoming locations will include Massachusetts,
Michigan, and Illinois, from 21-22 April and 17-20 March,
respectively. We now have staff in the United
States actively promoting the Residential Mechanical
Ventilation Installation training and servicing the needs of the U.S. industry,
said Joanne Spurrell, Director of Education and Market Development for HRAI.
SkillTech
Academys Residential Mechanical Ventilation Installation course is designed
for contractors and building professionals interested in developing
opportunities in the residential ventilation market as well as those currently
involved with designing and installing residential mechanical ventilation
systems including heat and energy recovery ventilators (HRVs/ERVs). The
program covers system requirements, air flow measurement and focuses
specifically on system design and installation. Successful students
qualify for 16 hours of continuing education credits towards North American
Technician Excellence (NATE) recertification. The training is also
Building Performance Institute (BPI)-recognized and qualifies for 16 hours of
continuing education for individuals certified as BPI heating specialists.
