Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp., has acquired Birton A/S, a Danish service contractor specializing in the installation and maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC equipment in the food retail industry in Denmark. Birton A/S will operate as part of the Sales, Project Management and Service organization within Carrier Commercial Refrigeration Denmark.

Birton A/S is known for the quality of its work and technical expertise in commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. In addition, Birton is aware of the new regulations on hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants, so it has developed a proprietary natural refrigerant solution marketed as "CO₂OLSolution" which complements Carrier's portfolio of environmentally sound products and services.
