The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning
and Heating (AIRAH) has released the
third edition of DA19, a comprehensive guide to HVAC&R maintenance, which
leads building owners, system managers, designers, contractors and occupiers
through the chain of actions and decisions that need to be taken when
implementing an HVAC&R maintenance plan.
The third edition of DA19 builds on the previous
editions, and provides a comprehensive reference for HVAC&R maintenance
planning, procurement, delivery and assessment. According to DA19 editor Vince
Aherne the HVAC&R maintenance improves safety, increases efficiency and
satisfaction, and improves reliability. As well as an overall update of
contents and structure, the new edition of DA19 focuses on maintenance
management for owner/managers and operators, and on considerations throughout
the HVAC system lifecycle.
Other new features of the third edition include maintenance
process and maintenance strategies defined; new maintenance schedules for some
HVAC&R plant (chillers, heat exchangers and more); guidance on essential
services maintenance and compliance issues; new focus on maintenance for
sustainability (Energy, water, refrigerant management and more); The new
version also comes with a Microsoft Word version of maintenance schedules on CD
for ease of use.
