Maurice KingAfter 50 years of service, Maurice King is retiring from Bitzer UK.  His technical expertise and customer service expertise will be greatly missed by colleagues and the many friends he has made in the industry.  Mark Sowden, Bitzer UK's Managing Director commented:  “Maurice has been one of those professionals in this industry whom we admire for their dedication and comradeship as well as their technical know how.”

Maurice’s 50 years started when he joined J&E Hall in Dartford as an apprentice before moving into the drawing and design offices.  In his next role as MOD Contracts Engineer, Maurice helped J&E Hall to fulfil its role as screw compressor pack supplier for the defence industry.  By the early 70s, he was working on a new container cooling product.

Maurice started dealing with BITZER compressors when they were imported from Germany and delivered to J & E Hall's Leighton Buzzard warehouse.  The UK success of the BITZER product meant that the sales function in APV Hall Commercial was formed and by 1986 the decision had been made to move to Milton Keynes. In 1993 Bitzer UK was formed with Maurice one of the original team members.

Over the last 17 years he has built up his extensive experience and knowledge of BITZER products and services, becoming a firm favourite with customers as part of the company's Sales Office team. “There are not that many in our industry who have Maurice’s experience and he will be missed.  We wish him a long and happy retirement,” concludes Mark Sowden.
