Business Edge turns to Bitzer UK for highest standard F-Gas Training Rigs PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 11 May 2011

During January, February and March 2011, Business Edge Limited conducted its F-Gas Training and Certification Courses at the BITZER UK Limited Training Centre in Milton Keynes.  Attendees included Engineers from a range of different contractors and end-users who, as part of the course, made extensive use of F-Gas Training Rigs custom designed and built by BITZER UK Limited for Business Edge.

In addition to the manufacture of refrigeration packs and dressed condensing units, BITZER UK Limited builds customised F-Gas Training Rigs for training companies and colleges.  Business Edge Ltd is one of the leading providers of F-Gas Training and Certification Courses and the company is also well-known for its very wide range of technically-based training courses with a high practical content.

Business Edge has designed and developed its own Training Rigs since its formation in 1990, but as a result of its close working relationship with BITZER UK Limited, MD Mike Creamer decided to approach BITZER UK's Kevin Glass in order to discuss the design and manufacture of for new Training Rigs to meet the higher specification and exacting standards specifically required for F-Gas Training and Certification Courses.  The Training Rigs would also be applied to other practical aBitzerir conditioning and refrigeration courses run by Business Edge.

Mike Creamer and Training & Business Development Manager, Kelvin Kelly, drew up the circuit and component specification and technical requirements of the Training Rigs.  This specification was based on their previous experience in using such equipment over many years whilst the design also had to comply with the strict specifications requirements set down by ConstructionSkills, the authorising Certification Body. Electrical safety and functionality also had to be considered.  The equipment was also to be used on all Business Edge City & Guilds F-Gas Courses.

Following discussions, BITZER UK Limited submitted design proposals and after various refinements, the final design was approved and construction of the first Training Rigs commenced. Following initial satisfactory use on the F-Gas Courses, Business Edge has subsequently ordered more Training Rigs.

Mike Creamer knows that it is absolutely essential to use training equipment that is both safe and highly efficient.  His company's reputation is such that he is expected to provide a Training and Certification Courses of the highest possible standard.  He says: “We saw the implementation of new equipment as being a key requirement.  Moreover, we wished to run the intensive Training and Certification process over the minimum number of days and thus the accessibility and efficiency of the equipment was paramount. Accordingly, this was integrated within our design specification. It is essential for candidates to remove and replace components throughout the certification process and the durability of the Training Rigs was thus considered extremely important. We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the BITZER workmanship and will continue to consider BITZER for similar requirements in the future.”
