Carley Gorman, a field engineer with WR Refrigeration, has come out tops in a major training competition. The 22-year old was presented with the award for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer Level 2 at the Heating and Ventilating Contractors’ Association (HVCA) annual training awards for Yorkshire.

Carley, based at WR Refrigeration’s Leeds branch, has been with the company three years and is undertaking a combination of college-based and on-the-job training.

“I love the job, the variety and hands-on aspect – and the fact that no two days are the same,” she said, after receiving the award last month in front of an audience of several hundred industry figures.

To date, Carley has mainly been involved in refrigeration installation, but is now moving onto experience with servicing and maintenance – including work on the latest supermarket packs.
