AERCO
International, a leading supplier of commercial boilers and water heating
products, has enhanced its Modulex line of condensing boilers (available in USA only). Each unit in the
300,000 to 1 million BTU/hour condensing boiler line is now equipped with a
Boiler Communications Module (BCM) to enhance communications and support
integration with Building Automation Systems.
In addition, the line has recently been approved by CSA for propane
installations and for breech venting of multiple units through a ceiling or
sidewall, reveals the companys press release. AERCO customers will be able to
retrofit existing equipment with the new BCM module and/or to convert natural
gas units to propane fire operation. Christian Zapata, AERCO Product Manager,
said, "The BCM supports full interoperability to Building Automation
Systems via Modbus protocol to make remote communications and control possible.
Furthermore, it provides customers with a remote alarm contact to notify them
of faults detected within any of the boiler's multiple thermal modules.
Finally, in the event the boiler's master controller stops working, the BCM
also takes over operations of the boiler.
Available in six different sizes with modulating capabilities from 6:1 to 23:1
(depending on the unit), the Modulex boiler line delivers condensing
capabilities, whisper-quiet operation of <50 dBa and low NOx emissions.
Units can support low gas pressure applications and can be vented using PVC
materials. For even greater flexibility, each unit has multiple supply/return
piping, venting and gas connection locations. Combustion view ports and easy
access to all operating components further simplify minimal maintenance
requirements.
