Global interest in ARIs certification programs
continue to grow. At the request of the Energy and Environment Research Laboratories
Division of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), ARI recently
conducted a two-day certification seminar in Taiwan.
Henry Hwong, ARIs Vice President of
Product Section Services, and Sunil Nanjundaram, ARIs Manager of Certification
Programs, conducted the seminar in late
September for about 50 Taiwanese manufacturers, ITRI staff, and a few ARI
member companies to discuss ARIs certification programs and the new General Operations
Manual. The seminar also included sessions on Single Packaged Vertical Units,
Packaged Terminal Air conditioners and Heat Pumps, Room Fan-Coils, Chillers, and
Air Heating and Cooling Coils.
The
Taiwanese HVACR industry is growing and maturing. According
to the organizations press release, Taiwanese companies now manufacture the
majority of global screw compressors. They also are testing a domestically designed
centrifugal compressor and expect to have centrifugal chillers on the market in
about a year. This growth and maturation in their manufacturing base has led to
increasing interests in participation in ARI certification programs. As a
result of the September seminar, ITRI representatives expressed an interest in
assisting ARI in the promotion of ARI
certification and enrolment of participants. |
