CIBSE launches Low Carbon Performance Awards 2008 |

The Chartered
Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE)
has launched the Low Carbon Performance Awards 2008 to recognise and celebrate
actual, proven achievements in delivering carbon savings in buildings. The
event will also publicise these achievements to the building services sector,
to its clients and to the general public.
Innovation and
inspiration are a key theme with the Innovation of the Year category seeking
to identify design or technical solutions, new technologies, new processes or
other innovations that have significantly reduced or assisted the reduction of
carbon emissions in buildings and which are capable of wider application. Other
categories include New Build Project of the Year, Refurbishment Project of
the Year, which will stress the potential of refurbishment to become a green
opportunity, and Client of the Year to recognise the valuable input of
clients who actively participate in projects.
The event will also celebrate the achievements of participants of the 100 Days
of Carbon Clean Up campaign, reveals the organizations press release. With
over 670 organisations signed up to the campaign, participants have a made a
real contribution to reducing the amount of carbon emitted from the workplace. The
Low Carbon Performance Awards will take place on 6th February 2008 at the
Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The awards are organised by CIBSE and will be presented as part of the CIBSE
Annual Dinner.
