As the
largest producer of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipments, Chinas HCFCs
phase-out program represents a significant crisis and a real challenge for the industry. Therefore, CRAA
(China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association) will host the International
Symposium on ODS and HCFCs Substitution Technologies Development on December 7th-8th,
2007, in
Beijing.
The symposium is honored by
the support of many entities, such as the Ministry of Science and
Technology, China Association of Organic Fluorine and Silicone Material
Industry, Chinese Association of Refrigeration, the International Council of
Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers' Associations (ICARMA) and its
international members (ARI, ABRAVA, EUROVENT, HRAI, JRAIA and KRAIA). According to the
associations press release, the main topics are as follow: newest ODS
phase-out trends and substitution progress in the world; alternative
technologies achievements, development, trends, research, applications and
experiences; new alternatives.
China has produced approximately 63 million air-conditioners in the year 2007 (Aug 1, 2006-July 31, 2007), accounting for 70% of the
