As a result of the Refrigerants Regulation of the
7th May 2007 and the entry into force of the F-Gas Regulation on the 4th July
2007, AFCE
(French Refrigeration, HVAC and Environment Alliance) has recently organized an
Information Day in Paris to explain to all
refrigeration and AC professionals their duties regarding these regulations.
In the presence and with the assistance of those responsible for the
F-gases program at the Ministries of the Environment and of Industry and ADEME
(French Environment and Energy Management Agency), there were several
presentations for each group of professionals followed by a debate which helped
the audience to better understand the application of the new laws. With almost
160 participants and interesting debates, some questions were not answered as
the application decrees wont be published until the end of 2007. The lunch
cocktail allowed each participant to discuss these subjects with each other.
The meeting papers are available through AFCEs Managing Director (

During this event, the MEDAD (French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable
Planning and Development) also announced a new campaign to promote the control
of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment by local authorities in order to
ensure the implementation of the new laws, reveals the association's press release. |
