Bock Kältemaschinen GmbH, the manufacturer of refrigerant compressors, presented its range of rail solutions at Innotrans for the first time. Innotrans 2008, a leading trade show focusing on rail technology, was held in Berlin on September 23rd – 26th.

bockFor some years now, Bock has concerned itself extensively with rail air conditioning as an application area. At Innotrans, the company presented variants of its semi-hermetic refrigerant compressors from the Pluscom series developed specifically for this area. These variants featuring a lightweight construction in aluminium and dual-speed, two-pin drive motor attracted great interest from the specialist audience. “Our presence at Innotrans was welcomed by HVAC system providers in particular, as well as train manufacturers. Over the four days of the show, promising conversations were held on our stand and we were able to forge numerous new contacts,” summarises Marcus Reuß, Bock Key Account Manager for Railway Applications. According to the company’s press release, the numerous systems and trains on show that featured Bock refrigerant compressors provided further proof of the company’s success on entering the rail sector. These included the Siemens Velaro RUS, one of the top trains on show. In the future, this train will operate on Russia’s first high-speed rail link between Moscow and St. Petersburg, with climate control provided by Bock refrigerant compressors.

Under the slogan “Objects of Desire”, Bock also presented its solutions at Chillventa 2008 in Germany, on October 15th – 17th. The company unveiled numerous new products on its stand covering more than 200 square metres, such as the expanded electronic frequency control (EFC/EFCe) series and CO2 product range. Bock also presented its range of ATEX compressors for use with hydrocarbons, thereby giving interested systems manufacturers another alterative to conventional refrigerants. Heinrich Reuß, the managing director responsible for sales at Bock, said: “Our trade show concept and focusing on energy efficiency and natural refrigerants really hit the mark at Chillventa. We were also more than happy with the number of visitors to our stand and the quality of the conversations we had.”
