J
& E Hall, a leading global supplier in the refrigeration and
HVAC industries, has joined a leading-edge scheme designed to help the industry
improve its safety record. The firm has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme
recognising high standards of health and safety practice in the building
services industry.
J & E Hall health and safety manager Andy Bowden said: We are
delighted to receive this accreditation. Good
health and safety practice is of paramount importance to J & E Hall. We
work hard at Halls to maintain high standards of health and safety.
SAFEcontractor accreditation will support this, enhance J & E Halls
ability to attract new business and maintain our reputation for providing a
first class service to our customers. Under the SAFEcontractor
system, businesses undergo a vetting process, examining health and safety
procedures and their track record for safe practice. Companies meeting the high
standard are included on a database, accessible to registered users only via
website.
Businesses
signing up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet
potential contractors before they set foot on site. These employers agree that,
as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received
accreditation. More than 80 major businesses
nationwide in the UK, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the
SAFEcontractor scheme when selecting suppliers for services such as building,
cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment, electrical and mechanical work, reveals
the companys press release.
