Rotterdam, one of the largest ports in the world, is the backdrop for the 15th ECSLA Cold Chain Logistics Program & Trade Show on February 27-29, 2012. Under the heading CREATING COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES - DISTINGUISH YOUR COMPANY AND POSITION YOURSELF IN THE FOREFRONT OF THE MARKET this 2-day event will explore and discuss ways for companies in the temperature-controlled logistics industry to distinguish themselves.
Insiders in the industry know very well that all operations are different due to clients portfolios, services and temperature zones offered, products handled, logistic concept, scale of operation, etc, and that these are not the features that really set one company apart from the other. In todays market place more distinguishing and unique selling points (USPs) are needed in order to be successful in the long run.
The position in the market can be strengthened by clear competitive advantages, for instance with regard to dedication of staff and workers, used technology, cost leadership, commitment to sustainability, degree of flexibility, international outreach, truly unique service, customized processes or equipment, personal involvement of management in client satisfaction, zero error guarantee, or green logistics. Case studies, best practices and practical tools will be presented to assist operators with identifying new or other competitive advantages.
The format of the event is based on the successes of the last couple of years and is structured around plenary sessions, round table meetings and breakout sessions. The program further features a trade show, reception, conference dinner, full-day facility tour and extensive networking opportunities.
The program is expected to bring together some 125-150 executives, senior managers and operational specialists from the European cold storage, food manufacturing, processing, warehousing, transportation and distribution sectors, as well as suppliers to these industries. Place of action is steamship De Rotterdam, a former transatlantic liner from the Holland America Line that now serves as a conference centre and hotel .
This event is unique because it is the only truly international meeting place in Europe for the temperature-controlled food logistics industry and is organized by the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA) in close affiliation with the Dutch cold storage association Nekovri and the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA). |
