The European Consumer Association (ANEC) recently
released a study conducted in several european Member States, revealing that
about 30% of energy consuming elements didnt have an energy label when it was
compulsory.
Furthermore, according to IPURs
(Rigid Polyurethane Foam Association) press release, those that did present a
label were not adequately classified, seeing as their energy consumption levels
were too high.
José Manuel Fernández, Secretary General of the Rigid
Polyurethane Assotiation, stated: At IPUR we share ANECs view on the
importance of requesting a review of the energy label directive and of strengthning
control measures in order to insure that the energy performance rates are those
indicated on the label. Fernández says: It is very important that, when
implanting the energy label in buildings, we consider optimum insulation levels
from the design, which will ensure energy savings all trhough the buildings
life while successively renewing heating, refrigeration and lighting
equipments, among others. |
