TASK 38, part of the Solar Heating and Cooling Programme of the International Energy Agency, takes place on October 15^th - 17th at the city of Barcelona. This event brings together the most remarkable members of the scientific community on the field of solar cooling and its main goal is the implementation of measures for an accelerated market introduction of solar air conditioning and refrigeration, focused on improved components and system concepts.

 

The market introduction will be supported through activities in development and testing of cooling equipment for the residential and small commercial sector, reveals the event organizers press release. The host and the organizer of this 3rd Experts Meeting in Barcelona will be Aiguasol. The Collegi d’Enginyers Tècnics Industrials de Barcelona collaborates in this meeting offering its facilities and participating on diffusion activities, and, likewise, the Institut Català d'Energia collaborates on organizing the event.

 

During the event, on Monday de 15th of October, there was an open free workshop for the promotion of the technology of refrigeration based on solar energy systems. On wednesday the 17th of October a visit to an operating solar cooling plant in Barcelona or surroundings is planned.
