Honeywell Building
Solutions released a new version of its Enterprise Buildings Integrator
(EBI), a facility management platform that boosts efficiency and reduces
operating costs by integrating core building technology HVAC, security, life
safety, lighting and energy systems.
The latest release, EBI
R400, provides a more unified and detailed view of these systems across a
network backbone that leverages industry-standard open system protocols. The new version
of EBI makes facility and security information more readily available through
enhanced reporting, including ad hoc and system-specific reporting, along with
standardized report generation. For
example, EBI R400 can generate reports specific to poor-performing HVAC
equipment across a facility or run reports on certain components of a physical
security system. From an IT perspective, the SQL Server upgrade lets staff create and run
reports without slowing overall system performance. In addition, EBI R400
includes an advanced facility model that organizes and presents information on
all systems and control points in an easy-to-navigate hierarchy.
Honeywell has also recently received the 2008 North American Frost &
Sullivan Award for Green Innovation of the Year, for helping its customers
identify and implement renewable energy solutions that are not only
environmentally sound, but also fiscally responsible. The different variables Honeywell considers for its
customers include renewable fuel availability, local electricity and gas
prices, heating and cooling degree days, rebates and incentives, and deal
structures. After examining all of these variables, Honeywell models them
against a collected database of more than 55,000 potential customers colleges
and universities, hospitals, and federal and state governments, and other
organizations across North America. Honeywell uses the data in the profiling
model to create a Renewable Energy Scorecard for each customer, reveals the
companys press release. |
