Andrew Chandler,
managing director of Glasgow-based Resource Data Management
(RDM), has won
a major industry award for his pioneering work in control and monitoring, and
energy efficiency. He was presented with the award for Pioneer of the Year Individual at a glittering ceremony at the
Hilton on Londons
Park Lane,
at the finals of the Cooling Industry Awards 2009.
The judges said that Andrew had transformed
the approach of refrigeration operators to energy performance as a result of
his development of a control and monitoring technology based on the internet,
known as ActiveFMTM. In addition, the award also recognizes the
enormous future potential of RDMs approach, and its capacity for expansion beyond refrigeration into the wider field of HVACR/building services
and the control of whole buildings.
It
reflects the combined teamwork of RDMs people over a considerable period of
time. Without their passion, energy and creativity, we would not have been so
successful in delivering solutions that make such a massive difference to our
customers businesses, said Andrew Chandler. We are working on a new
generation of products that will further extend the abilities and areas of
application of our equipment in the future. With energy prices continuing to
rise, we have the solutions to deliver substantial savings in money, energy and
carbon, he added.
