CDD and CDL: these are the latest names of CO₂ evaporators born within the ECO Coils & Coolers family of Luvata.

The new series joins the already well-known CDC (cubic evaporators for cold rooms) and the numerous other ranges of evaporators specifically designed by Luvata to meet the expanding needs of operators in the refrigeration market.

CDD and CDL are the CO₂ equivalent to the established dual discharge series DFE and LFE, from which they inherit the same quality and reliability. These products are specifically designed for small workrooms of limited height or small cold-rooms used for fresh food preservation, where the low air flow speed circulation is a prerequisite for the operators’ health and comfort, aside from the correct preservation of food.

In the CDD series, the models are equipped with dual velocity fan motors, so that the same product can be used to either get normal or reduced ventilation, whilst guaranteeing minimized noise levels.

CDD also offers the “Z” configuration that – featuring the fan motors on the upper side of the product when affixed to the ceiling – responds to the most demanding operating conditions and guarantees a delicate in-door air flow distribution, avoiding direct flows on the operators.

“This range of evaporators is intended for highly specialised applications,” says Umberto Di Barbora, Product Line Manager of HTS Division.  “Applications that must meet precise and extreme criteria, in addition to comfort and health requirements, all while preserving perishable goods.”

The evolution of this applied research has led Luvata to offer the refrigeration market a wide range of evaporators and remote condensers. Thanks to this synergy, Luvata has designed other series such as the KCE gas cooler, aside a long list of special customized products, and every single product in Luvata’s Air Units catalogue can be customized for CO₂.

Luvata evaporators have been successfully running for years in cold rooms across Scandinavia, Denmark, Great Britain, Switzerland, Hungary and Germany. The KCE gas coolers have been particularly successful in these countries’ supermarket chains; thanks to the number of electronic fan-motors combination possibilities, they completely satisfy the requirements in terms of performance, noise level and energy consumption. Today more than 500 supermarkets use Luvata solutions.
