General Tools & Instruments, one of
the leading supplier of specialty hand tools and electronic test instruments
for the Hardware, Woodworking, Machining, Plumbing, Electrical and HVACR
industries, announces the release of its new IRT206 Heat Seeker Infra Red,
Gun Style, Thermometer.
The IRT206 Heat Seeker is a precision measuring device used for
obtaining accurate temperatures instantaneously without having to contact the
object being measured. It works by capturing and measuring the invisible
infrared energy naturally emitted from all objects. It offers an easy and safe
method to instantaneously measure surface temperatures of objects which are
difficult or unsafe to contact. The Heat Seeker has a rugged, ergonomic design
and features a backlit LCD display with built-in laser sighting. The IRT206 has a measurement range of -4° to 605°F (0° to 318°C) and utilizes a
switchable on/off laser pointer for target location. The
practical distance-to-spot rationote 1 of 8:1 is suitable for most consumer and
commercial applications.
The Heat Seeker is attractive to a myriad of users including home owners
and inspectors, electrical and HVAC/R contractors and technicians, and automotive
technicians. According to the companys press release, primary consumer uses
include use as an energy audit device to help reduce AC/Heating bills. It
allows for the scanning of exterior walls and ceilings for insulation
deficiencies, determination of radiator heating efficiencies in closed hot
water and steam heating systems, determination of the temperature of the air,
be it for heating or air conditioning, passing through the air vents of forced
hot air heating systems, measuring of radiant floor temperatures to assess
system efficiency and for locating radiant heating tubes when theres a need to
drill, screw or nail into the floor. |
