Heat Transfer Products has unveiled a new
30-tube solar collector panel that will deliver up to 39,000 Btu per panel per
day, depending on available sunlight. The collectors are engineered to maximize
energy efficiency even at high Delta T temperatures, making them ideal for
colder regions or applications demanding higher outlet temperatures.
Each panel
assembly consists 30, twin-glass, evacuated tubes to absorb solar energy for
heating water. They are shipped with a ready-to-assemble 439 stainless-steel
frame for easy rooftop mounting. Rather than wrestling with a cumbersome,
prefabricated collector panel on a rooftop, the technician builds the collector
one tube at a time by inserting them into the frame. Fully assembled, each
30-tube collector weighs approximately 209 lb. The collectors can be coupled with any
Heat Transfer solar water heater, including the Phoenix Solar, which combines
hot-water storage with a 96%-efficient, gas-fired backup in one unit.
The new collectors are also
a key component in the new, all-in-one solar packages offered by Heat Transfer.
In addition to either one or two collector panels, the turnkey kits include a
solar controller, pump station, pre-insulated 50-foot line set, plus all the
various parts and components needed to complete the job when coupled with a
Heat Transfer solar water heater. As with all of Heat Transfer solar water
heaters, the new collectors have been certified by the Solar Rating and
Certification Corporation (SRCC), reveals the companys press release. The
certification affirms that the products meet or exceed SRCC criteria for system
design, reliability and durability, safety, servicing, installation, operation
and maintenance. HTP is one of the first water heater manufacturers to earn
this prestigious certification.
