Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) released the Eco Turbo ETI
series high-efficiency centrifugal chillers in May 2008, aimed at the market
for commercial buildings and small factories. Some 100 Eco Turbo ETI systems
are expected to be sold each year.
The series has 6 types of products and refrigeration capacities ranging
from 150 to 500 RT, and uses refrigerant R134a. A notable characteristic of the
product is that the inverter controller is mounted on the chiller, which can
save space to a great extent. Besides, the shell and tube heat exchanger of the
product make it easy to be cleaned and
the excelent design of the product also reduces the noise greatly. This high
efficiency energy saving product also offers reduced CO2 emissions. Compared
with the ART series released earlier by the company, the new product can save
62% electric power and emit 62% less CO2.
MHI also developed a 150 RT air cooled Eco Turbo heat pump (ETH) series
aimed at the new electric centrifugal chiller market as well as the absorption
chiller replacement market. The modular design of the product can make 4 such products work together to
provide a refrigeration capacity of 600 RT, which can save 30% space compared
with the former Turbo S series produced by the company. It offers a 71% CO2
emission reduction compared with the direct-fired absorption chiller/heaters,
as well as an 83% decrease in energy consumption, among other benefits. MHI should release this new product in October 2008, reveals JARN
