An enhanced version of the software tool, SBEM, has just been unveiled. SBEM is a software tool that provides an analysis of the energy consumption and carbon emissions of buildings other than dwellings.

The tool will enable designers, developers and suppliers to demonstrate compliance with the revised Part L of the Building Regulations, which takes effect this October across England and Wales. Produced by BRE on behalf of Communities and Local Government (CLG), the tool is available to download from www.2010ncm.bre.co.uk. CLG will explain the changes to Part L and the new software at BRE Watford on 14 July.
