J & E Hall, a leading global supplier in the refrigeration and HVAC industries, recently announced the new Halltherm Rescroll remanufactured compressor has reached the finals of this year’s Cooling Industry Awards in the category of Environmental Product of the Year. Products in this category must significantly reduce the negative impact of refrigeration or air conditioning upon the environment and may be cooling products themselves, individual components or controls, service tools or teaching aids.

According to the company’s press release, the new Rescroll, launched earlier this year, is environmentally friendly and conforms to the WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) Directive on the disposal of electrical equipment. Today the refrigeration and air conditioning industry faces a major challenge and while ozone depletion is being addressed, the global warming battle is only just beginning. 

The Cooling Industry Awards provide a national focus to recognise, reward and celebrate the achievements of those pushing forward the boundaries of environmentally focused refrigeration and air conditioning. Winners will be revealed on awards night, on October 3^rd 2007, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
