Geothermal International, the UK's leading supplier of ground source heating and cooling systems, has been named Business of the Year at the Coventry Telegraph Business Awards 2008. The company designs and installs 80% of all Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) systems in the UK. 

The fact that the business is at the forefront of such an important industry sector was one of the major factors that led to the company winning the much sought after award. GI has completed a number of high profile projects. According to the company’s press release, last year GI installed the largest lake loop system in Europe at Kings Hill Hospital in Mansfield in conjunction with Skanska.

The system provides most of the hospital’s heating needs and all of its cooling requirements. This will not only result in considerable CO2 savings but as for every 1kw of energy used, 4 to 7kw are produced by the system, energy bills will also be significantly reduced.
