Architectural
aluminium systems supplier Kawneer has
launched a new RIBA-approved CPD presentation on air ventilation to help
specifiers understand the revisions to Part F of the Building Regulations and
their impact on building design and use.
Approved
Document F 2006: Means of Ventilation also examines the different approaches
that need to be taken to dwellings and buildings as well as buildings other
than dwellings in both new build and refurbishment. The presentation advises on
the purpose of air ventilation, what to look for regarding indoor air quality,
ventilation strategies and systems including background, passive stack,
continuous mechanical and purge ventilation, school buildings and replacement
windows. Covering buildings other than dwellings such as offices and car parks,
the CPD advises on the design measures needed to prevent Legionella and on the
use of recirculated air in air conditioning systems.
The one-hour CPD
is the sixth RIBA-approved CPD from Kawneer and like its predecessors conforms
to RIBAs strict best practice guidelines, with certificates issued on
successful completion, reveals the companys press release.
