NIBCO, a worldwide provider of flow control solutions to the residential and commercial construction, industrial, fire protection and irrigation markets, announced the new 285 PSI ductile iron butterfly valve of its commercial/industrial line.

The ductile iron body of the new 285 PSI butterfly valve has more than twice the strength of cast iron and is on par with cast steel. With sizes ranging from 2" through 12", there are numerous applications including HVAC (condensers, chilled water, hot water heating), domestic hot and cold water, isolation and throttling, reveals the company’s press release.

This valve cannot be used for air service. The 285 PSI ductile iron butterfly valve features stainless steel trim with an EPDM molded-in liner, providing excellent bi-directional dead end service. Both the wafer-style (WD 5022) and lug-style (LD 5022) are available as bare-stem, lever-operated or manual gear-operated valves.
