Remica, a leader in
energy efficiency, and NH Hoteles have consolidated their strategic agreement
on energy efficiency by implementing two solar energy projects in the Madrid hotels NH
Pacífico and NH Alberto Aguilera, which will allow for important energy
consumption reductions necessary for Domestic Hot Water production.
These actions develop the agreement signed in September 2007 between Remica
and NH Hoteles and which, from now on, is an essential part of the 2012
Environmental Plan presented recently by NH. Within this ambicious 2012
Environmental Plan, Remica will actively cooperate with NH Hoteles on energy
efficiency with improvements on the buildings HVAC systems and the
incorporation of renewable energies. This is the case of Hotels NH Pacífico and
NH Alberto Aguilera, in which the deployment of high energy efficiency
mechanical and thermal installations has already started, after previous
viability studies, proposals and budgets to improve energy efficency have been
performed. Remica will also supervise and manage the subsequent monitoring,
reveals the companys press release.
Remicas General Manager, Manuel Acosta, declared: The action taken to
improve the energy efficiency of NH Hoteles is an example to follow as it shows
the possibility to combine business development corporate requirements with
social commitment to reduce the environmental impact of its activities. For
his part, Luís Ortega Cobo, as Corporate Environmental and Engineering Manager,
NH Hoteles Group, said: NHs commitment to the Environment is evident. Our
goal is to act globally and thus to reach the European emission reduction and
energy consumption objective scheduled for 2020 eight years earlier. In this
way, and with projects such as these, we actively work to reduce 20% of energy
consumption and 20% of CO2 emissions generated by our buildings, in which they
are experts. |
