The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration
Institute (AHRI) recently announced 16
winners of the Clifford H.
"Ted" Rees, Jr. Scholarship for the fall 2009 semester.
AHRI's Rees Scholarship was established to honour the legacy of Ted Rees,
a former president of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), a
predecessor organization to AHRI, to encourage students to pursue higher
education and a career as heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and
refrigeration (HVACR) technicians.
"By recognizing these
deserving students enrolled in HVACR technical career programs, AHRI is helping
the industry close a serious and growing skills gap in our country," said
AHRI President Stephen Yurek. "These students have demonstrated drive,
commitment, and leadership to reach their educational goals and we are pleased
to help them achieve their career potential." |
