Co-sponsored by the Japan Environmental Education Forum, DENSO’s DYEA program encourages young people to become actively involved in creating a sustainable society.

This year, the program will have approximately 30 undergraduate and graduate students from six ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries ― Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore ― and Japan. Students will participate in an on-site program focusing on water resources in which they will observe and experience how humankind coexists with nature in environmentally rich regions in Japan, including Mount Fuji in Shizuoka Prefecture, Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture and sites in Aichi Prefecture. Based on what they learn, the participants will formulate an action plan for attaining a sustainable society and present their ideas at a forum in Aichi, Japan on Dec. 12, 2009.
