Fläkt Woods, one of the largest air handling systems and duct suppliers in Europe, recently won a walbrookcontract to provide the ventilation system for The Walbrook scheme, the £155 million design and construct, office and retail development in London.

Located near Canon Street, the scheme incorporates Fläkt Woods’s largest ever air conditioning systems, the silent EU 84’s, specially commissioned for the project and connected to the building management system. In addition, every unit incorporates Fläkt Woods’ patented thermal wheel, the most efficient method of energy recovery, according to the company’s press release.

Similar to many buildings, the exterior of The Walbrook is encased with solar shading which will help keep the building cool in the summer and warm in the winter, thus improving energy efficiency. Main construction work on site has started and completion is scheduled for late 2009.
