Siemens to upgrade pipeline stations in South Africa |

Siemens Energy, the worlds leading
supplier of a complete spectrum of products, services and solutions for the
generation, transmission and distribution of power and for the extraction,
conversion and transport of oil and gas, has recently won three orders to
upgrade existing pump stations in South Africa. The customer is Transnet Pipelines, a
division of Transnet Limited, the main transport utility in South Africa.
Our pipeline team has had a close working
relationship with Transnet Pipelines for more than 10 years now, said Tom
Blades, CEO of the Oil & Gas Division of Siemens Energy. We differentiate
ourselves by being able to provide customers with automated, fully integrated
solutions optimizing operating reliability and efficiency. Equally important is
our after sales support covering not only maintenance but also upgrading and
entire life cycle support for pipeline infrastructures.
The Siemens scope of supply
comprises engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning,
automation and custody transfer metering of the two pipeline delivery stations
in the Gauteng Province
and a switching station in the Mpumalanga
Province.
