Monday, 14 September 2009

Siemens Energy, the world’s leading supplier of a complete spectrum of products, services and transnetsolutions for the generation, transmission and distribution of power and for the extraction, conversion and transport of oil and gas, has recently won three orders to upgrade existing pump stations in South Africa. The customer is Transnet Pipelines, a division of Transnet Limited, the main transport utility in South Africa.

“Our pipeline team has had a close working relationship with Transnet Pipelines for more than 10 years now,” said Tom Blades, CEO of the Oil & Gas Division of Siemens Energy. “We differentiate ourselves by being able to provide customers with automated, fully integrated solutions optimizing operating reliability and efficiency. Equally important is our after sales support covering not only maintenance but also upgrading and entire life cycle support for pipeline infrastructures.”

The Siemens scope of supply comprises engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, automation and custody transfer metering of the two pipeline delivery stations in the Gauteng Province and a switching station in the Mpumalanga Province.
