The Kingspan branded Saferidge fall prevention system is the only system tested and approved by Kingspan for inclusion as a branded product in the Kingspan guarantee. Kingspan provide for the manufacture, design, installation and certification of the Saferidge system for all Kingspan roof panels.

The inclusion of a non Kingspan fall prevention system on a Kingspan roof should not prevent the issue of the Kingspan roofing guarantee, but the conditions below must be considered a minimum requirement. It is important to note that meeting the minimum conditions below does not imply Kingspan approval of any other fall prevention system in conjunction with its roofing range.

Additionally and notwithstanding the criteria below any damage whatsoever caused to the Kingspan roof panels by a non-approved fall prevention system, be it during the installation, testing, subsequent annual testing or if a fall has occurred, will result in the Kingspan roof guarantee being void.

There have been a number of previous letters issued by Kingspan relating to the inclusion of other fall prevention systems and their impact on the Kingspan panel guarantee. These letters were all pre ‘Magenta book’ and can now be considered withdrawn as at the date of this announcement.

Kingspan confirm that the inclusion of other fall prevention systems prior to this announcement on a number of Kingspan insulated roof panel systems will not invalidate the Kingspan roofing guarantee, save where damage has been caused by improper installation and/or use.

Minimum Conditions With the proliferation of fall prevention products on the market, it is imperative that specifiers, contractors, clients and end users have a selected product that is “fit for purpose”. If a non-approved product is selected, the following is the minimum requirements that are required for a Kingspan roofing guarantee to be issued. The roof and system will need to be inspected by a Kingspan technical representative.

The system must be independently tested to EN795 on the Kingspan roof it is proposed to be installed upon The system must be independently tested to ‘Magenta book’ specification on the Kingspan roof it is proposed to be installed upon The manufacturer and the installer company of the proposed system must be accredited to ISO 9001 (2008) quality standard, ISO 14001 environmental standard and OHSAS 18001 health and safety standard The system designer must have relevant expertise in the area of fall prevention design and appropriate professional indemnity insurance.

The system must be inspected in situ by a Kingspan Technical Representative. It is important to note that the issue of the Kingspan roofing guarantee does not imply Kingspan approval of the fall prevention system.
