New SRC-W & SW Screw Compressors by REFCOMP: PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 24 September 2007

Thanks to the long experience and the business success of the SRC-S and SRC-XS compact series, Refcomp presents today a full range of semi-hermetic screw compressors designed for refrigerant applications. There are two different families of these compressors designed for installations with external oil separators: the SRC-W and the SW series. Refcomp created these products accordingly to the modern needs of the refrigeration industry giving attention not only to the compressors’ reliability, but also to other factors such as noiselessness, efficiency, compactness, and simplicity of installation and maintenance. These two families differs basically in the capacity control system: three capacity steps with a by-pass system for the SRC-W series and a slide valve system for the SW one.

SRC-W COMPRESSORS: COMPACTNESS AND FUNCIONALITY

This series consists of 8 models with a displacement that ranges from 118 to 237 m3/h (at 50 Hz) and a nominal power from 30 to 80hp. It is based on the modular design and production philosophy typical of the “X Series”, which guarantees functionality, efficiency, and compactness. Many of the SRC-W components are in fact the same of the SRC-XS series, such as the step capacity control system, thanks to which part of the compressed refrigerant is by-passed in the suction side of the compressor.

SW SERIES: MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY

This series consists of 16 models with a displacement that ranges from 118 to 341 m3/h (at 50 Hz) and with a motor nominal power from 30 to 125 hp. This family is based instead on the SRC-S series with which has in common many components, such as the capacity control system with a slide valve with both 4–steps or continuous regulation.

VERSATILITY, NOISELESSNESS, EFFICIENCY

When applied in parallel in motor-compression units, the SRC-W and SW compressors represent a valid option to similar units with semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors or with single screw or centrifugal compressors.

Installations with screw compressors in parallel are very easy to do and have many advantages: very high total cooling capacity with accurate capacity regulation, higher efficiency at partial-loading operations, stable unit operations, and lower starting currents. What’s more, the use of a ECOnomizer circuit further increases the specific capacity and efficiency of the compressor, which optimizes the cost of the returned cooling kWs; this is particularly remarkable at medium and high compression ratios. Finally, accordingly to the market needs, these compressors can be used with R22 and R404A or R507 non-chlorinated refrigerants. All Refcomp products comply with the following European standards: the Machines Directive 98/37/CE, the Low Voltage Directive (DBT) 73/23/CEE, and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC) 89/336/CEE – 92/31/CEE.
